Spoken Artists is a boutique keynote speaker agency representing an exclusive roster of more than 60 speakers across leadership, innovation, business, AI, motivation and more.
We work with corporations, associations and event organizers across Canada and beyond, connecting them with exceptional people for their conferences, meetings and events.
We're a small agency with some pretty big ambitions. And we're looking for someone who can help us grow.
Here's the opportunity
We've built a great roster, developed strong client relationships and established ourselves in a highly competitive industry.
What we need now is someone who can help us get in front of more of the right people.
Not someone who sits around waiting for leads. Not someone whose idea of business development is sending 200 generic emails a day.
We're looking for someone who's curious, persistent, resourceful and genuinely good at building relationships. Someone who knows how to research an organization, find the right person, start a conversation and turn that conversation into an opportunity.
You'll work directly with our founder across two areas of the business:
1. Growing our keynote speaker business
- Identifying corporations, associations, conferences and organizations that regularly book keynote speakers.
- Finding and connecting with the people responsible for those decisions.
- Developing thoughtful, personalized outreach that actually gets responses.
- Reconnecting with past clients and prospects, including opportunities already in our CRM.
- Researching upcoming events, conference themes, audiences and potential speaking opportunities.
- Building and managing a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Working closely with our founder to turn those opportunities into bookings.
2. Helping build LEVEL UP, our newest initiative
We've recently launched Level Up (spokenartists.com/levelup), a new professional development offering that brings experts and industry leaders directly to organizations and their communities through practical, accessible learning experiences.
We're looking for someone who can help us introduce Level Up to the right organizations and develop partnerships that make sense. That includes:
- Identifying potential partners, including chambers of commerce, colleges, universities, professional associations and business networks.
- Connecting with decision-makers and introducing opportunities to bring Level Up courses to their members, employees or communities.
- Developing relationships with organizations interested in offering professional development opportunities.
- Helping turn those conversations into meaningful, ongoing partnerships.
- Bringing new ideas to the table about where Level Up could go and how we can grow it.
Who we're looking for
You don't necessarily need experience in the keynote speaking industry.
We'd be interested in hearing from people with backgrounds in corporate events, association management, sponsorship sales, partnerships, business development or related fields.
What matters more is how you think and how you work. You're probably someone who:
- Has a proven ability to develop new business and build professional relationships.
- Is comfortable reaching out to people you've never met.
- Knows how to identify opportunities that others might overlook.
- Can write a great email without sounding like a sales template.
- Understands the difference between following up and becoming a nuisance.
- Is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working with a CRM (we use HubSpot).
- Can manage multiple conversations and opportunities without losing track of the details.
- Doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder to get things done.
- Is genuinely interested in helping grow a business, not simply filling a position.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes initiative.
Someone who comes to the table with ideas, spots opportunities and isn't afraid to pick up the phone.
What we're offering
- The flexibility to work remotely.
- The opportunity to work directly with the founder and have a meaningful impact on the direction of the business.
- An established roster of exclusive speakers and existing client relationships to build on.
- The chance to help grow a new professional development initiative from its early stages.
- Competitive compensation based on experience, with performance-based incentives.
- The opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the business grows.

And we'd love to hear your answer to one question: If you joined Spoken Artists tomorrow, where would you start looking for new business and potential Level Up partners?
We're much more interested in how you think than how polished your résumé looks.
Send your résumé and a short introduction to pjosic@spokenartists.com.
